Judith Bendersky-The Basics of Medicare

Judith Bendersky - Judith has her Masters Degree in Public Health from Loma Linda University and is a Certified Health Education Specialist. After five years of her current job serving elders and people with disabilities, she went back to school and completed a Certificate in Gerontology from the University of Washington, Seattle. She has enjoyed working in public health education in Alaska for over 25 years is currently the Health Program Manager for the Alaska SHIP and SMP known as the Medicare Information Office. The federal government funds these grants as well as the MIPPA grant which actively seeks people on Medicare with limited income and assets so as to help them get subsidies they are eligible for pay their Medicare premiums. She enjoys the wide variety of tasks and opportunities associated with keeping the Alaska SHIP on course through the ice, hail, sleet and ice fog: preparing grant proposals for the federal government to fund activities, conducting public media and outreach as well as providing one-on-one client consultation on all things related to Medicare and other health insurance-related topics. Judith calls herself a hikeaholic and enjoys any outdoor adventure.
