TOPIC:
Transparency in Coverage and Federal No Surprise Bill Act
On October 29, 2020, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the Department of Labor, and the Department of the Treasury jointly released the Transparency in Coverage final rule. Further, the Consolidated Appropriations Act 2021 (CAA), including the Federal No Surprises Act, was passed. Both, Transparency in Coverage and Federal No Surprises Act have huge implication on health plans. Individual, small group, large group, fully insured, self-funded, grandfathered and non-grandfathered markets are all impacted alike. Some of the provisions went into effect on January 1, 2022 and some will follow later in 2022, 2023 and beyond. Come and learn how Premera Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alaska has been implementing these stipulations on behalf of our mutual customers and learn about the roadmap ahead of us. Guiding you through this 1 hour CE credit training will be no others than the project managers themselves. Bruce Lewis leads the Transparency in Coverage efforts at Premera and Rick Rochelle leads the Federal No Surprises Act. Please join us for this special interactive conversation with Premera Representatives to gain insight on these new bills. Please note there will be NO CHARGE for this 1 CE course for AAHU Members, and $20 for Non-Members. Please spread the word and invite guests who may also benefit from this course.
